A select look at all the latest news and gossip surrounding the Magpies...

Everton's Brendan Galloway in action

Newcastle United are reportedly considering a loan move for 20-year-old Everton defender Brendan Galloway, according to the Shields Gazette.

Rafael Benitez has already brought in Jesus Gamez, Grant Hanley, and Ciaran Clark to strengthen his defence this summer, but it appears he could be planning to further reinforce his options at the back.

The report suggests that new Everton manager Ronald Koeman could be willing to loan out Galloway this summer, and that the Magpies would like to be at the front of the queue.

The Moussa Sissoko exit saga rumbles on, with the midfielder having claimed, as quoted by the Chronicle, that he is training alone on Tyneside.

Aleksandar Mitrovic celebrates after scoring the first goal for Newcastle

That follows the midfielder giving an interview to French publication Foot Mercato over the weekend in which he publicly admitted that he is flattered by links to La Liga giants Real Madrid, an interview that the Chronicle speculates could be determined to have broken the Magpies' club rules.

Meanwhile, the Shields Gazette claim that Newcastle are not entertaining the possibility of selling Aleksandar Mitrovic despite the arrival of new number nine Dwight Gayle.

Mitrovic, who cost £13 million when he moved to Tyneside last summer, scored nine goals in 36 appearances in his debut season but will miss the first four matches of the current campaign through suspension.

However, it appears as though Rafael Benitez is intent on holding onto the Serbian international as a physical option in attack.

Newcastle's Emmanuel Riviere in action with West Ham's Alexandre Song

One striker who will be allowed to leave is Emmanuel Riviere, who is being targeted by Hamburg, Olympiakos and Stade Rennes, according to the Chronicle.

The 26-year-old was a £6 million signing from Monaco two years ago but has made just 16 league starts since his arrival, and is surplus to requirements at St. James' Park.

The club themselves have confirmed on their official website that an agreement has been reached for midfield flop Florian Thauvin has completed his exit from St. James' Park.

The Frenchman has returned to Marseille on another season-long loan, with the Ligue 1 club having an obligation - as opposed to merely an option - to make the move permanent next summer.

Finally, the club have loaned out young striker Ivan Toney to Shrewsbury Town.
