Manchester United overcame Leicester City at the weekend.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho got off to the best possible start as he guided his side to Community Shield triumph on Sunday.
United defeated Leicester City 2-1 courtesy of goals from Jesse Lingard and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Swede’s late winner coming after Jamie Vardy had earlier equalised for the Premier League champions.
That goal came after a mistake from United midfielder Marouane Fellaini, who carelessly played the ball back in the direction of David de Gea without looking, only for Vardy to pounce as he did so often last season.
Fellaini continues to be a figure who divides opinion at Old Trafford, with some hailing his work rate but the majority questioning his place not only in the starting XI but the entire squad.
It will be interesting to see how Mourinho views his mistake; after all, there is no space for such carelessness in a side managed by the Portuguese.
After the match we took to Twitter to see what United fans thought of Fellaini’s performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
Fellaini is not only rubbish. He’s also slow. Take him off Mourinho.— Ant Bennett (@AntBenn) August 7, 2016
Can't stop thinking if it wasnt for Fellaini's terrible back pass we would have won 2-0, not comfortably, but it shows how weve strengthened— ZLATAN_IS_RED (@Heisenberg_mufc) August 7, 2016
Fellaini by the way, Is terrible, just wins headers and that is literally it.— Liam Fox (@LiamFoxtrot) August 7, 2016
@Felliani Not fair to single out Fellaini for just one mistake. Instead, single him out for being terrible at football for three years.— Nnando Chuks James (@Xeroxbaba) August 7, 2016
Speak what you want about Fellaini. Yesterday's game showed that picking him in the starting Line up was a good decision made by Jose.— KF (@FutboIMundo) August 8, 2016
