West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has told BT Sport, as quoted by the Essex Chronicle, that he is close to signing Olympiakos full back Arthur Masuaka and Swansea forward Andre Ayew.

The Hammers have already brought in the likes of Havard Nordtveit, Sofiane Feghouli, Gokhan Tore and Ashley Fletcher this summer, but now look set to make two more additions before the start of the new Premier League campaign.

With Aaron Cresswell ruled out for a lengthy spell having suffered knee ligament damage, Bilic needs to bring in a new left back, given that he has no other recognised cover in that position in his squad.

Meanwhile, the Hammers have been desperate to bring in a new forward this summer, especially with question marks surrounding the future of Diafra Sakho.

Now, manager Bilic has offered an exciting update to West Ham fans, admitting that two players are closing in on moves to the London Stadium.

Speaking to BT Sport ahead of today's pre-season friendly against Juventus, Bilic - as quoted by the Essex Chronicle - admitted that Olympiakos left back Arthur Masuaku and Swansea star Andre Ayew are set to join the club in the coming days.

Masuaku, 22, has made 73 appearances for Greek side Olympiakos since signing from Valenciennes in his native France back in 2014, and is poised to fill the void left by Cresswell's injury.

A pacey, attacking left back with impressive crossing ability and a powerful shot, Masuaku also offers a long throw - something that a player like Andy Carroll would thrive on.

Meanwhile, Swansea attacker Ayew hit 12 goals and two assists last season, and is poised to re-join forces with his former Marseille team-mate Dimitri Payet in East London.

Bilic admitted that both players are 'very close' to signing, but whilst the deals are 'almost done', they aren't completed just yet - and even called Ayew a 'big time marquee player'.

"We are very close to signing a couple of players and that's it," said Bilic. "When I said a few days ago that we are expecting to get five players I didn't mean five new players - but players like Payet, Lanzini and Cresswell who are going to be back."

"We are very close to signing Andre Ayew from Swansea and we are very close to signing Arthur Masuaku, the French left back from Olympiakos. It's almost done, but until it's done it's never done."

"We are trying to get quality players but we have marquee players, Feghouli is a marquee player, Tore is a marquee player. Andre Ayew is a big time marquee player. It doesn't have to be someone for 70 or 80million, we can't afford it. But we are close to signing a couple of them; if those two players come then I'm quite happy with my squad."

Would you be happy with the signings of Ayew and Masuaku?
