Leeds United suffered a nightmare start to their Championship campaign as they lost 3-0 away to QPR.

The Whites conceded an early goal and could not find a rhythm in attack, before being hit twice more by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side.

For a side chasing the game, it is somewhat remarkable that central midfield pair Ronaldo Vieira and Toumani Diagouraga won just one single tackle combined.

The pair are relatively recent additions to the Leeds first team squad, with Vieira making his first competitive start, and Diagouraga signing in January.

Teenager Vieira should naturally be afforded more leniency in terms of appraisal, compared to the more experienced Diagouraga, with the youngster the only pone of the pair to win a tackle also.

Sunderland outcast Liam Bridcutt spent last season on loan at Leeds and remains a transfer target for them this summer, yet they are yet to get a deal done.

Bridcutt is not afraid of putting a tackle in, winning 47 in 24 games for Leeds last season.

He may not have single handedly turned around Sunday's scoreline, but he would have helped Garry Monk's side put up a lot more fight - and when the head coach analyses how the midfield duo played, surely will realise that Bridcutt is a player they need.
