Everton's Romelu Lukaku in action

According to a report from the Liverpool Echo, Everton are yet to receive an offer from Chelsea for striker Romelu Lukaku, despite claims a £57million bid has been rejected.

The Toffees will be desperate to keep hold of their Belgian international as they look to kick on under new manager Ronald Koeman, but the ongoing reports linking him with a return to Stamford Bridge have allegedly not gone down well on Merseyside.

The latest report claims Everton would not welcome a bid from any club for a player they have every intention of keeping hold of for the upcoming campaign.

In other news, the Mirror claims Newcastle United have made a loan approach for Everton youngster Brendan Galloway and are waiting to hear back from the Toffees.

Galloway is highly rated at Goodison Park and made his breakthrough under former boss Roberto Martinez, but with first-team stars returning from injury he could struggle for game time, meaning a loan move could suit all parties.

Portugal's Rui Patricio celebrates

And finally, Rui Patrico has been speaking to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo about the speculation - from DN Sport - linking him with a move to Everton.

Koeman continues to be linked with the signing of an additional goalkeeper and Patricio would be a superb purchase.

However he said, “If there are offers, obviously they will be thought about by me and by Sporting (Lisbon). But as Sporting are my home, Sporting will have the final word.”
