The young Spanish keeper has recently been linked with a move to White Hart Lane.

Espanyol sporting director Angel Gomez has admitted that reported Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Pau Lopez may not remain at the club this summer.

Speaking to AS this week he mentioned that he would not be able to stand in the way of the player should a good offer come in for the stopper:

"[Pau] is our goalkeeper, he belongs to Espanyol and has good potential.

“I have great confidence in him (but) if there is an economic proposal that is very interesting and that tempts him we will have to make a decision.

“But in the meantime, he is an Espanyol player."

Sport reported last week that Tottenham had bid around £1.7 million for the Espanyol player but that the Spanish side are holding out for a fee of £4.2 million for the talented stopper.

However, the Daily Mail then reported that Spurs had not made an approach to sign the player yet but confirmed manager Mauricio Pochettino is a fan, after following him growing up through the ranks at Espanyol - where the Spurs boss used to manage and play.

His signature would be seen as a potential long-term successor to Frenchman Hugo Lloris.

Lopez is just 21-years-old but has established himself as the number one keeper at Espanyol in recent times. His good form even saw him called up to the Spanish senior squad for a friendly in May.

It seems that if Spurs make the right offer they might just get their hands on this Spanish talent.
