Former Nottingham Forest and Leeds United midfielder David Prutton predicted on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday morning (broadcast from 10am, August 5, 2016) that Sheffield Wednesday can finish in the top six of the Championship this season.
Wednesday finished sixth in the league table during the 2015-16 campaign and reached the playoff final.
The Owls lost the Championship playoff final 1-0 to Hull City at the Wembley Stadium in London, thanks to Mohamed Diame’s goal in the 72nd minute.
Former Wednesday midfielder Prutton believes that Carlos Carvalhal’s side can end up in the top six of the Championship yet again this season.
The Englishman has also hailed the signing of Steven Fletcher and Almen Abdi in the summer transfer window.

Scotland international striker Fletcher, who is 29 years of age, moved to Wednesday on a free transfer after leaving Premier League outfit Sunderland at the end of last season.
Abdi, who is 29 years of age and plays as an attacking midfielder, moved to the Owls from Premier League club Watford.
“The additions that they have made in Almen Abdi and Fletcher, you would think that gives them a very, very good outside chance of being in the top six,” said Prutton on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday morning (broadcast from 10am, August 5, 2016).
