The Gers are set to host Hamilton at Ibrox in their first Scottish Premiership encounter since their controversial demotion to the fourth tier four years ago for financial irregulatories.
It’s been a tough journey back for Rangers, yet now the Glasgow giants are gearing up for their return and are in good shape following a decent pre-season in terms of results and signings.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the encounter at Ibrox, Hamilton’s Devlin admits his side have a tough game on their hands as he implores his side to maintain focused against a good Rangers team.
“We have to keep the ball. We can’t give possession away cheaply and we need to defend well. Composure will be key. We can’t be overawed by a full house,” the defender told Herald Scotland.
“As a team Rangers have been great and I don’t think there’s any doubt they’ll do well this year. They’ve added to what they already had. They’re an attacking threat."
Rangers have been in good form over the past few weeks, winning all four of their League Cup group matches without conceding a single goal.
Warburton has added both youth and experience to his squad this summer, with Joey Barton without doubt the most high-profile addition as the former Newcastle United vows to take Scottish football by storm.
