Former player Stan Collymore has suggested on social networking site Twitter than Norwich City are a little too good for the Championship after defeating Blackburn Rovers 4-1 at Ewood Park.

The Canaries are back in the second tier following their brief one-year stay in the Premier League, and the club’s one and only aim this season is to earn another immediate return to the top-flight.

Norwich have become somewhat of a yo-yo club in recent years, and they got their promotion charge off to the perfect start this weekend as they thrashed a sorry Blackburn 4-1 in Lancashire.

Jacob Murphy, Wes Hoolahan, Cameron Jerome and Steven Naismith all found the net for Norwich, with the former three all scoring within the first 25 minutes to put Alex Neil’s men in utter control.

Despite Anthony Stokes pulling one back for the hosts, the visitors had the game and all three points wrapped up by then, prompting former player and now-pundit Collymore to sing their praise on Twitter.

Many feel Norwich are among the most likely to win promotion this season, and their comfortable win over Blackburn will only enhance that opinion considering fellow contenders Newcastle United lost on Friday.

The Norfolk side are arguably one top striker away from being almost the complete package at this level, and with three weeks left in the transfer window they still have plenty of time to add to their ranks.

Up next for the Canaries is two back-to-back home games against Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City.
