Rangers' Clint Hill and Joey Barton look dejected
Glasgow Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has predicted on social networking site Twitter that Newcastle United will win the Championship title this season.
The former Newcastle midfielder believes that Rafael Benitez’s side have a strong squad.
Barton, though, has warned the Magpies that it will not be easy for them to win the Championship title, as there are some big clubs who will fancy their chances.
The former Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers midfielder made the prediction before Newcastle’s game against Fulham on Friday evening.
Newcastle were firm favourites heading into the Championship match at Craven Cottage in London, but Benitez’s side slumped to a 1-0 defeat.

Can't see beyond the Toon Army myself. They have a strong squad and but some big clubs will fancy their chances as well. Won't be a cakewalk— Joseph Barton (@Joey7Barton) 5 August 2016
The defeat to Fulham should serve as a warning to Newcastle that it will be hard for them this season.
The Magpies should still remain favourites to win the Championship title this campaign, but they will have to be consistent and play to the best of their ability in each and every game.
Newcastle will return to action next Saturday when they take on Huddersfield Town at St. James’ Park in the Championship.
