Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish has told The Telegraph that he is determined to prove himself this season.
The 20-year-old, who can play as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, is a very talented young footballer.
However, the England Under-21 international has not truly done much of note so far in his career and has yet to show how valuable he can be for Villa.
Grealish, though, has made it clear that he has become more mature now and is determined to prove himself this season.
“It’s a huge season for me and the club,” Grealish told The Telegraph. “I’m so determined to prove people wrong this season, and do it for myself. I want to get this club back where it belongs.”
Grealish scored one goal and created 12 chances in 16 Premier League appearances for Villa last season.
Under new manager Roberto Di Matteo, Villa will be aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship this campaign.
Grealish will be looking to play a key role for the Villans during the 2016-17 campaign. The youngster’s comments suggest that he is ready to step up and raise his game.
Villa fans should retain their faith in Grealish, who certainly has potential and can become a top player in the coming years.
