General view outside the stadium before the match - Goodison Park

Everton host Espanyol in a pre-season friendly this afternoon.

Everton starting line-up: Stekelenburg; Coleman, Stones, Funes Mori, Baines; Gana, Barry; Deulofeu, Barkley, Mirallas; Lukaku.

Everton substitutes: Joel, Jagielka, Oviedo, Holgate, Galloway, McCarthy, Davies, Kone, Lennon, Tarashaj.

Everton play their final game of pre-season this afternoon as they host La Liga side Espanyol at Goodison Park, just a week away from their opening game of the Premier League season.

The Toffees drew 0-0 with Manchester United in Wayne Rooney's testimonial in midweek, with new manager Ronald Koeman preparing his side for the visit of Tottenham next weekend.

Koeman has gone with a strong side this afternoon, as a familiar back four of Seamus Coleman, the in-demand John Stones, Ramiro Funes Mori and Leighton Baines all start in front of new signing Maarten Stekelenburg.

There's a start in midfield for new signing Idrissa Gueye in midfield, who recently joined the club from Aston Villa, and he partners Gareth Barry in the middle of the park.

Gerard Deulofeu, Ross Barkley and Kevin Mirallas will again support Romelu Lukaku in attack, in what could be a nod to Koeman's starting line-up to face Spurs next week.

Established first-team players Phil Jagielka, James McCarthy and Aaron Lennon are all on the bench, as are youngsters such as Mason Holgate, Brendan Galloway, Tom Davies and Shani Tarashaj.

Everton will be looking to end pre-season on a high, and whilst new signings may arrive in the coming days, this may well be the team we see against Spurs, should they impress today.
