West Ham United have been on the hunt for a new striker for much of this summer.
There have been some big names linked with a move to West Ham this summer to fill that role that certainly had Hammers fans excited.
However, one name that was not met with much excitement was Bafetimbi Gomis.

The Swansea City striker was linked with a move to West Ham by The Sun last month as West Ham struggled to get hold of the players they were looking at.
In the end West Ham did not sign him, as he headed to Marseille on loan for the season.

But according to one of his representatives West Ham were definitely interested.
Etienne Mendy stated, as reported by Le Phoceen: "There was a combination of circumstances and in the end it did not go as he would have liked. Compared to the level to which he aspired, on which he was, it was not a disaster but a semi-failure and disappointment.

"Still he still had loads of options in England with West Ham who wanted even though it was not clear enough."
West Ham are looking to sign a new striker after many of their options struggled for fitness last term and with Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia apparently up for grabs, it is certainly an area of the squad that West Ham need to improve.
Now it seems they will be doing just that, with a Swansea City player, as Andre Ayew looks set to head to London.
