The former Leeds United centre-back has backed United and Manchester City to fight for the league title.
As for the fourth and final Champions League spot, Ferdinand believes that it will be fought out between Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.
“I reckon it [the title] is between Man United and Man City,” the former England international told Metro. “[Then it’s] Tottenham. And then it’s one of Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool.”
Not many will disagree with Ferdinand’s opinion about the Premier League title race.
United and City will start the season as favourites for the league title, and it is hard to see another side challenging them all the way.
Chelsea and Arsenal, though, will fancy their chances, especially if the London duo start the season strongly.
Tottenham ended up third in the Premier League table last season, and Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be aiming for a similar position this campaign.
The North London outfit have some of the best players in England, such as Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld, and they will attempt to challenge for the league title yet again.
