Deutsche Bank - Foyer Bridge

Bank of America has hired Izumi Devalier from HSBC as its chief economist for Japan, according to an internal memo obtained by Bloomberg.

Bloomberg News reports that Devalier, who worked as a Hong Kong-based economist at HSBC covering Japan and other Asian economies, will join Merrill Lynch Japan Securities as head of Japan economics in September, the memo shows.

In the meantime, Reuters reports that Dodd Kittsley, who has served as head of exchange-traded product strategy at Deutsche Bank's U.S. asset management unit for the past two years, has left the company, according to two people with knowledge of the departure.

Deutsche's Asset and Wealth Management's Americas division hired Kittsley, a longtime industry veteran, away from BlackRock in 2014 as part of a push to accelerate its growth in the fast-growing business of managing exchange-traded funds and other similar products.
