Neil Mellor has told Liverpool’s official website that Sadio Mane’s work ethic is the main thing he will bring to the club next season.

Mane is one of seven new signings to have arrived at Liverpool this summer in a busy transfer window for Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds paid big money to Southampton for his services, with the hope he can pace and goals to their front line next season.

He has also been targeted to add some much needed width, with the current Liverpool line up lacking in wide players at present.

However, Mellor believes that it his teamwork ethic is what he will really bring to Liverpool next season.

“He is going to offer goal, but it’s that teamwork ethic that he will really bring to Liverpool this season,” he told the club’s official website.

“There’s no question Mane will create and score many goals this season. But it’s the defensive side of the game that shows his work-rate. It’s paramount for a team.”

It remains to be seen whether Mane proves to be a smart signing for Liverpool next season.

The pressure is certainly on his shoulders, with many expecting big things from a player the Reds have paid nearly £40 million to sign.

Should he hit the ground running though and help to fire Liverpool to a top four place or better, then there will not be many questioning that price tag come the end of the season.
