Rangers striker Kenny Miller has explained to The Glasgow Evening Times what he expects from the Gers’ game against Hamilton Academical this weekend.

Mark Warburton’s side will take on Hamilton at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

It will be Rangers’ first game of the 2016-17 Scottish Premiership campaign. The Glasgow giants will head into the match as favourites and should register a comfortable victory.

Rangers striker Miller, who is 36 years of age, has predicted the match against Hamilton to be an open one.

“I have watched a bit of Hamilton and they looked decent,” Miller told The Glasgow Evening Times. “They seemed to be playing a different shape and style.

“On the face of it, it looks a decent, open game. But you look last season at teams who opened up against us. And I think we have improved.”

Rangers won the Scottish Championship title with ease last season and gained automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership for the 2016-17 campaign.

The Gers will be expected by many to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season.

Rangers have been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far, signing Joey Barton, Jordan Rossiter, Clint Hill and Lee Hodson among others.

Hamilton finished 10th in the Scottish Premiership table last season and will be aiming to finish higher in the standings during the 2016-17 campaign.
