Rangers' Clint Hill and Joey Barton look dejected
Rangers will take on Hamilton at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.
Former Newcastle United midfielder Barton and ex-Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Kranjcar are likely to start for the Gers.
Docherty, who is just 19 years of age and is considered as a very promising young midfielder, is looking forward to facing the Rangers duo.
“I’ll thrive on facing Joey Barton, assuming I get the opportunity,” Docherty told The Daily Record.
“A couple of years ago I was watching guys like him and Niko Kranjcar on Match of the Day and it’s crazy to think I’ll be playing against them this weekend, they’re top quality.
“You want to show what you can do against guys like that and maybe even learn from them as well. First and foremost, though, I want to go up against them and prove that I’m not just a wee boy and that I can compete at their level.”

Barton was one of the best players for Burnley in the Championship last season.
The 33-year-old former Newcastle man is a high-profile signing for Rangers, and he will be a key player for Mark Warburton’s side this season.
The former Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers midfielder remains a very good footballer.
As for Kranjcar, the 31-year-old Croatian attacking midfielder will add flair and guile to Rangers.
Rangers will be aiming to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
