Harry Kane celebrates after scoring the second goal for Tottenham
Tottenham striker Harry Kane has recreated a famous Paul Scholes strike as part of BT Sport’s ‘Goals Recreated’ series.
The 23-year old shared a video on his official Twitter account showing his attempts to copy the Manchester United legend’s volleyed screamer against Bradford in 2000.
Kane took three attempts to smash the ball into the right side of the goal direct from a corner kick.
Spurs fans will hope to see those kind of strikes on a regular basis this season, as the club looks to build on an excellent campaign last term.
Kane has become Tottenham’s talisman in front of goal and dismissed any suggestion that he was a one-season wonder after bagging himself the Premier League Golden Boot in May and scoring 28 goals in all competitions – bringing his total Spurs tally to 64 goals in 127 games.
Tottenham's Vincent Janssen in action with Atletico Madrid's Filipe Luis
The academy product will have some of the goalscoring burden taken off him this season, with the arrival of Vincent Janssen, and it will be fascinating to see how the Dutchman is integrated into the first-team.
The Netherlands international has been brought in primarily as cover for Kane but he will be determined to prove he can play a bigger role and force his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team plans.
