Norwich City have completed a move for the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.
Tottenham Hotspur have sold midfielder Alex Pritchard to Championship side Norwich City for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old was widely expected to leave White Hart Lane this summer after Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino said the youngster was not in his plans for the upcoming campaign.
It still comes as a blow to a player who never really had a chance to prove himself in the Tottenham first-team, injury robbing him of the opportunity to impress following a successful loan spell at Brentford in 2014.
That stint at the Bees saw Pritchard score 12 goals and provide seven assists in 47 matches and he was widely expected to make his breakthrough in North London the following season.
A serious injury shortly afterwards ended that chance and a failed loan move to West Bromwich Albion in January was not what Pritchard would have hoped for.
His talent is undeniable and after signing a four-year deal at Norwich he will be hoping to get his career back on track.
After the news we took to Twitter to see what Tottenham fans thought and you can read a selection of what we found below:
Fantastic money we're getting for Pritchard here. Levy at it again. Nearly 8m for a lad who has never played in a top game. #COYS— Charlie Lloyd Thomas (@CharlieLloydT) August 4, 2016
Give it two years I think we will re-sign Pritchard for more than we sold him for #COYS— Rory Bailey (@RoryTBailey) August 4, 2016
Disappointed to see Pritchard go, thought Poch with his faith in academy would give him a run out in 1st team, seems to have potential #COYS— Mike Langan (@MikeLangan93) August 4, 2016
Alex Pritchard to Norwich done. Fazio loaned out. Only Bentaleb is left of the 3 players Poch said had to leave Spurs. Quick work #COYS— Emma Storey (@JournoSpursEmma) August 4, 2016
It's a shame Pritchard's gone, looked like he would of done well. But if poch don't want him I stand by him #coys— Jamie Imber (@Jamie_83_) August 4, 2016
