West Ham United have been chasing the signature of a high-profile striker all summer long but the Hammers have faced a lot of frustration so far.
The likes of Carlos Bacca, Alexandre Lacazette, Simone Zaza and Mario Mandzukic are just some of the names that have been linked with a move to the Olympic Stadium but in each case any pursuit has ultimately proven to be unsuccessful.
With just over a week to go before the start of the new Premier League campaign, West Ham are surely getting a bit desperate in their attempt to sign a new striker.
Italian international Eder is another player who has been linked with West Ham this summer and now, according to reports emerging out of Italy, the Hammers are set to ramp up their pursuit to sign the 29-year-old.
Corriere dello Sport claim that West Ham are set to offer around £12.6 million for Eder, and that the Premier League side are optimistic that the bid will be enough to land the services of the former Empoli star.
Completing the transfer for Eder will be a bit complicated, however, as he is currently at Inter on a two-year loan deal from Sampdoria; consequently, in order to sign the striker, West Ham will have to convince Nerazzurri to terminate that agreement.
Eder failed to impress at Inter in his first half-season after joining in January and while the Italian giants could be willing to release him this summer, the potential transfer to West Ham coming to fruition is anything but a certainty at the moment.
