Everton have only brought in two senior players in the transfer window so far.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has told BT Sport that they are working hard to bring in more signings this summer.

The Blues were expected to be busy in the summer transfer window, with Koeman offered a big transfer budget by shareholder Farhad Moshiri.

It has not proven to be the case though, with just two new signings arriving at the club so far.

Maarten Stekelenburg joined earlier in the window while they completed a move for Aston Villa midfielder Idrissa Gueye earlier this week.

That has frustrated the fans, who were keen to see their side spend big to try and bounce back from the disappointment of the last two seasons.

Koeman has moved to try and ease their fears, insisting that they are working hard to make further signings.

“We are working hard to bring in good players,” he told BT Sport.

“It’s not respectful to talk about players playing for other teams but I hope we will bring in new players as soon as possible.”

It now remains to be seen if Everton can secure any more of the signings that they want this summer.

There is no denying that they need several more additions if they are to compete next season, with the current squad looking thin on the ground at present.

However, in a market that has seen big prices paid already they may end up having to pay over the odds to secure the players they need.
