Rumours have emerged this week yet again linking Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga with a move to Championship rivals Norwich City.

The Sun reported this week that Forest were considering making a £7 million move for the player this summer – following on from previous similar reports.

But the Forest manager Philippe Montanier is having none of it.

The charismatic Frenchman was speaking to the press today ahead of the meeting with Burton Albion in the Championship this weekend and is quoted by the Nottingham Post as stating:

“There are a lot of rumours in preseason. He has worked hard and he has a role to play for Forest.

"They're only rumours, like rabbits let them run."

Assombalonga will be chomping at the bit to get going this season after missing the majority of the 2015-16 campaign with a horrific knee injury suffered in February 2015.

Montanier is certainly not about to let go of one of his best striking options with the season about to get underway and it would seem the Frenchman has no desire to sell the bullish striker anytime soon.

However, should the price be right, then Forest will surely struggle to turn down any offer for any of their top players this summer.
