Bristol City are lining up a loan move for highly-rated Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Abraham is regarded as one of the best young talents to emerge from Chelsea's youth system in recent years, with the club hopeful he will eventually make the step up to become a first-team regular.

The 18-year-old was handed his Premier League debut as a late substitute in a 1-1 draw with Liverpool in May and he made his second appearance in the final game of the season against Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.

Abraham has been involved in Chelsea's tour of the United States, but the summer signing of Michy Batshuayi has increased competition for places in the Chelsea side.

New Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is understood to be an admirer of Abraham, but feels he would be best served going out on loan to gain some valuable first-team experience to aid his development.

A number of clubs have expressed an interest in signing Abraham, but Bristol City are in pole position to land the England Under-19 international.
