Campbell has reportedly attracted the interest of Nottingham Forest and Bristol City this summer.
Campbell could be set to stay at Crystal Palace
The Bristol Post has claimed that Frazier Campbell could be set to stay at Crystal Palace this summer, after boss Alan Pardew revealed that the striker is likely to miss his side's opening game of the new Premier League season.
Bristol City and Nottingham Forest are reportedly leading the chase for the one-time England international, but may now look elsewhere if they believe he is likely to be spending a prolonged period on the sidelines.
Campbell is joined by attacking midfielder Bakary Sako in facing an uphill battle to be fit for the Eagles' opening game with West Brom on August 13.
According to the Bristol Post, Pardew recently said: "We should have everybody fit physically for the first game, apart from Bakary and Fraizer."
Campbell's upcoming spell on the sidelines has come at a bad time, with Connor Wickham understood to be their only realistic forward option ahead of the opening day, despite the club being linked with moves for Liverpool's Christian Benteke and West Brom's Saido Berahino.
Should Pardew succeed in his recruitment attempts then a move could still be on for Campbell, but until then it looks likely he may stay in South London.
