According to a report in the Daily Mail, Ross McCormack is set to sign a four-year contract at Aston Villa.
Fulham have confirmed the news that Villa have had a bid accepted for McCormack, as HITC were first to report.
The striker is currently undergoing a medical at Villa Park, ahead of a £14 million move.
Roberto Di Matteo’s side have been chasing a new front man for the entirety of the summer transfer window to date, and it has taken them some time to get a deal over the line.
However, McCormack’s arrival looks set to increase Villa’s firepower considerably as they aim for promotion back to the Premier League.
McCormack has finished as one of the Championship’s top scorers for each of the last three campaigns.
Villa’s decision to offer McCormack, who is 29-years-old, a four-year deal shows that they feel he can offer something for the years ahead.
Di Matteo’s side have made three new signings so far this summer, with Tommy Elphick, Pierluigi Gollini and Aaron Tshibola all signing up already.
The Mail claim that Villa will continue to look for new recruits, even after McCormack’s deal goes through.
