Leeds United are weighing up a move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Dominic Ball, HITC Sport understands from sources close to club.

Ball's future has been the subject of speculation this summer after impressing on a season-long loan at Rangers last season.

Ball made 30 appearances in all competitions for Rangers last season as they secured promotion back to the Scottish Premiership and the Glasgow giants have been keen to bring him back to Ibrox this summer.

Ball is now back at Tottenham after his spell at Rangers and a number of clubs are understood to have made enquiries about signing the England under-20 international.

Leeds are keeping tabs on Ball's situation with Elland Road boss Garry Monk thought to be a big admirer of the 21-year-old due to his versatility to play at both centre-back and in holding midfield.

Ball, who joined Tottenham from Watford in 2011, is highly regarded at White Hart Lane and they have high hopes that he could be a first-team regular in the future.

However, he is currently well down the pecking order in Mauricio Pochettino's first-team plans and Leeds are ready to offer him a way out of White Hart Lane.

Swansea manager Garry Monk

Monk has been busy in the transfer market since taking over at Leeds this summer and he sees Ball as someone who can boost their bid to challenge for promotion this season.
