Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the talented young 'keeper.
Spurs are said to have bid £1.7million, with the La Liga club looking for £4.2million, so meeting some way in the middle is not beyond the realms of possibility. But if the 21-year-old does arrive at White Hart Lane this summer it would surely spell the end for Michel Vorm.
The Netherlands international is currently acting as back-up to first-choice stopper Hugo Lloris. However Tottenham are unlikely to sign Lopez only to use him in the under-21s; especially when you consider he has already appeared 48 times for Espanyol, including 38 times last season.
Lopez would be brought in to immediately challenge Lloris and also act as a long-term replacement for the Frenchman, meaning Vorm could well be sold.
At 32, Vorm needs to be playing regular first-team football and there are plenty of top flight clubs who would surely be interested in his services.
Everton are in need of an experienced ‘keeper following the departure of Tim Howard, while there could be a few clubs in his homeland eager to take him following his succesful stint at FC Utrecht at the start of his career.
Tottenham need to sign Lopez first, but assuming they do, Vorm could be leaving after just 21 appearances for the first-team.
