HITC Sport understands Hull defender wants Middlesbrough move.
Hull City defender Harry Maguire is ready to hand in a transfer request to try and force through a move to Middlesbrough, HITC Sport understands.
The 23-year-old has been unsettled at The KCOM Stadium since January, and Boro have been trying to sign him since last summer and have made unsuccessful moves in each transfer window.
Now Boro are back in for him again and have seen two bids rejected in the last week, the latest being £5million.
Hull City's Harry Maguire
Hull have been rocked by the departure of their boss Steve Bruce and star midfielder Momo Diame - who signed for Newcastle on Wednesday after they met his release clause.
Hull are yet to appoint Bruce's successor, but that has not put Boro off who want Maguire signed before their opening Premier League game with Stoke City next week.
Now HITC Sport understands that Maguire has told the club that he wants to quit the club, and he wants to join Boro - who rekindled their interest in him after a move for Borussia Dortmund's Neven Subotic fell through because of a medical issue.

However, even if Hull grant Maguire's request to let him leave, Boro will have to up their bid and sources close to the situation have told HITC Sport that they will need to go to above £6million.
"Hull do not want to sell, but they know the player wants to leave - but the ball is back in Boro's court now - they will need to up their bid."
