Garry Monk has confirmed to the Football League Preview show, which was broadcast on 2nd August on BBC Radio Five Live, that Leeds United are still looking to strengthen.

Leeds have already added seven new players this summer, but Monk feels that there are areas of his squad which could still need improving.

Leeds are understood to be looking at a centre-back and a central midfielder before the close of the transfer window.

And Monk said, when asked whether Leeds were still hoping to add players: “We’re always looking to strengthen. We’re working on that on a daily basis. Of course we’re looking to strengthen again, but it will only be the right players than can help compliment the squad we already have.”

Leeds have already invested sizeable fees to bring Marcus Antonsson and Kemar Roofe to Elland Road this summer.

The Whites have also brought in Hadi Sacko, Matt Grimes, Kyle Bartley, Rob Green and Pablo Hernandez on cheaper deals.

The latest rumours in the Yorkshire Evening Post now suggest that Leeds are chasing Nottingham Forest centre-back Jack Hobbs.

Leeds should have money to spend, after the sale of Lewis Cook raised funds.

The Whites start their campaign with a match against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on Sunday.
