Tottenham Hotspur are back in contention to sign Sofiane Boufal.

Since Tottenham Hotspur seemingly agreed a deal to sign Georges-Kevin Nkoudou from Marseille a fortnight ago, the deal has been moving at a snail's pace.

French website Le Phoceen yesterday reported tensions were growing between the clubs as the impasse wore on, and now it appears Spurs may have turned their attentions elsewhere.

France Football claim Tottenham have renewed contact with Lille winger Sofiane Boufal, who has established himself as Eden Hazard's successor at the club.

Boufal was linked to Tottenham throughout the season, but the Guardian last month claims Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino decided against a move, pushing for Nkoudou instead.

Now it appears it could be a case of back to the original plan, and Tottenham have been in contact with his agent to sound him out.

Boual is recovering from a knee injury after netting 11 goals last season, but France Football claim this has not put Tottenham off.

The Mirror reported last month that Watford had attempted to do a deal for Boufal, only for the Hornets to fall short of Lille's asking price.
