Federico Fazio's exit from Tottenham has been sped along by the club's former sporting director.

Federico Fazio is on the verge of sealing his exit from Tottenham Hotspur to Roma, with Tuttomercatoweb reporting he has flown to Italy.
It is reported he is expected to undergo his medical today (Tuesday 2/8) upon the completion of paperwork relating to the move.
Fazio is moving on loan, with Roma having purchase option they can take at the end of the season, and Tottenham have an old face to thank for helping the deal along.

Fazio's agent Salva Sanchez told Calciomercato that Franco Baldini, Tottenham's old technical director, has been instrumental in sealing a deal, for Roma, another of his former clubs.
He said: "The first contacts are not recent, Franco Baldini has played a key role in this operation."
Baldini departed Tottenham last September by mutual consent, The BBC reported, with his role marginalised by head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

He was blamed for the poor spending of the Gareth Bale money which led to Andre Villas-Boas sacking, and several of his 2013 summer signings have departed, but Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela remain key players.
Baldini was at the club when Fazio was signed in 2014, but it is unclear how much input, or blame, should be apportioned to him for that particular deal.
Yet it is safe to say Pochettino is not a fan, deciding not to pick him at all in the Premier League last season and leaving him off the club's pre-season tour.
Baldini is doing Spurs a favour by helping them shift Fazio's salary off their wage bill, setting up a potential fee to be received in a year's time, and ensuring a player with no need to be at Tottenham is no longer hanging around.
