Sheffield Wednesday are still on the hunt for two more additions this summer.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has told the Sheffield Star that he wants to bring in a centre-back and a left-back before the close of the transfer window.

Wednesday have recently completed a double deal to bring in Almen Abdi and Daniel Pudil from Watford, while they have also brought in Steven Fletcher earlier in the summer.

Carvalhal is not finished with adding to his squad, however, and the Portuguese boss has confirmed that he wants two more defenders in the near future.

“We need more players,” said Carvalhal. “We will try to bring them in as soon as possible. We have good players but we want to improve the team. “If we wanted to bring in players, maybe we could bring in 50 who want to come to Sheffield Wednesday. We need the correct players.”

Wednesday are aiming to have two players in every position, as they look to cover for injuries.

As things stand Pudil is the only left back in the Owls’ senior squad, and they currently only have three central defenders, too.

Wednesday are still considered to be one of the favourites for promotion, and they is a very positive feeling around Hillsborough.

Wednesday made it to the play off final last term, and they will be hoping to go one better this time around.

Wednesday start their season with a match against Aston Villa at the weekend.
