According to the latest reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Fiorentina have submitted a loan offer for Aston Villa’s Carlos Sanchez.
The Italian publication claim that the Colombia international midfielder has emerged as a target for the Serie A club, and their current loan offer with an option to buy is being considered by Villa.
Sanchez, 30, joined Villa from Elche in the summer of 2014 for an undisclosed fee and soon became a regular at Villa Park, making 28 Premier League appearances in his first season.
He went on to feature in the FA Cup final against Arsenal, but that was arguably the pinnacle for him in a Villa shirt as the following season he struggled for games while the club performed terribly in the league.
Villa’s relegation to the Championship has prompted speculation over the futures of a number of players, and Sanchez is one which has been heavily tipped to leave this summer.
Fresh reports in Italy state that Fiorentina have identified him as an ideal candidate to add to their midfield ranks, yet the club seemingly want to take him on loan rather than buy him outright.
The holding midfielder started his career in Uruguay and after spells in France, Spain and now England, it’s looking increasingly like his next destination will be in the Italian region of Tuscany.
