According to a report from Spanish newspaper Sport, Tottenham Hotspur have failed in a bid to sign Espanyol goalkeeper Pau Lopez.

The 21-year-old is said to have been the subject of a £1.7million offer from Spurs but the La Liga side allegedly want closer to £4.2million.

That is a considerable difference and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will be reluctant to pay the full amount given his previous ability to negotiate the best possible deal for his club.

The report claims talks are ongoing so expect a fresh bid in due course.

Brentford's Alex Pritchard shoots at goal

In other news, Sky Sports claims Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed a fee with Tottenham for midfielder Alex Pritchard.

Tottenham are said to want £8million for the 23-year-old and it seems the Seagulls are willing to pay up for a player who was never really given a chance at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham's Nacer Chadli celebrates scoring their first goal

The Mirror claims Swansea City have failed with an initial bid for Spurs winger Nacer Chadli but are prepared to come back with an improved offer.

The Belgian wide man was used predominantly as a bit-part player last season and it would be no surprise to see him move on.

And finally, Turkish website Fanatik claims Tottenham remain interested in Yunus Malli despite the fact his release clause has only recently expired.

From being available for £8.4million earlier this summer, it could now take more than that to secure a deal. However the latest report claims Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has not given up on the player with discussions ongoing.
