Arsenal's Francis Coquelin and Mesut Ozil in action with Aston Villa's Idrissa Gueye
Everton have completed the signing of Senegalese midfielder Idrissa Gueye from Aston Villa.
Gueye was unveiled as the club announced the deal on Everton's website after they activated his release clause.
The Toffees have signed a talented midfielder, and there is no better way to describe him than to look back on previous quotes from the man who signed him for Villa, Tim Sherwood.
FormerAston Villa manager Tim Sherwood
Sherwood signed him in early July, and was sacked at the end of October, but during his short time working with the midfielder, he was quickly impressed.
Here is a look at three memorable quotes from the former Aston Villa manager about the 26-year-old.
Quoted by the Birmingham Mail in early September, he said: "When he's on the pitch he looks like a monster. He plays like that.
"Idrissa has taken to it like a duck to water - very well. He's certainly one I want to take into the trenches."

These comments were echoed when he spoke to The Star a week later, again playing up the 'monster' theme
He said: "He’s a tough guy. When you cut him wires come out of him. He’s the kind of player who doesn’t look that big when you see him in the corridor.
“Yet when he’s out on the pitch, he grows in size and looks big. That’s the way it seems anyway.”
One of the most unfortunate came in early July when he signed him, and was dreaming of partnering Gueye with Fabian Delph, who quit days later.
Sherwood also managed to compare him to a now former Chelsea midfielder in the same breath.
He was quoted by Sambafoot: "He has the same energy as Fabian Delph, which everyone will be pleased to hear.
"If you can get two players who run around as much as them? I think the groundsman will have a problem keeping that grass on the pitch! He's similar to Ramires."
