Brentford co-director of football Rasmus Ankersen has revealed on the club’s official Twitter page that there will not be any move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Alex Pritchard in the summer transfer window

Ankersen has claimed that Pritchard, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, is too expensive.

The Bees' official made the comments during the Brentford Fans Forum on Monday.

Pritchard is a talented and promising attacking midfielder, but he could find it tough to feature in the Tottenham first team next season.

According to a recent report on West London Sport, Spurs want as much as £8 million in order to part company with the Englishman.

It was reported that Championship club Queens Park Rangers had made an approach for Pritchard, but it was turned down.

Pritchard knows the Championship well, having played for Brentford on loan from Tottenham during the 2014-15 season.

During his loan spell at Brentford, the former England Under-21 international scored 11 goals and created as many as 111 chances in 46 Championship appearances.

The attacking midfielder had a pass accuracy of 77% and a shot accuracy of 53%, and won five headers, 56 dribbles and 58 tackles.
