Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told The Times that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will not find it easy in the Premier League.

Guardiola was appointed as the City manager earlier this summer. The former Spain international midfielder is one of the best and most successful football managers in the world.

The 45-year-old had a hugely successful spell at Barcelona before winning the Bundesliga title three years in a row with Bayern Munich.

City have appointed Guardiola in order to make them one of the best and most entertaining teams on the planet.

Klopp, though, believes that the City boss will not find it easy in the Premier League.

“The competition makes it really interesting,” Klopp told The Times. “Winning the title in England is the biggest challenge of them all.

“If you are three times in a row Spanish champions, three times in a row Bundesliga champions, then you think OK, let’s try something else. If you are looking for the biggest challenge, then you need to go to England.

“It’s not easy in Germany. If you want to be in front of Bayern Munich, you have to win all the other games and then a minimum of one against Bayern. They don’t lose.

“In this country it’s a very different kind of difficulty. Here you have a number of clubs who think they should be No 1.”

Guardiola is certainly going to find it tough in the Premier League, especially as the current City squad is not as good as his Barcelona and Bayern teams.

One should not be surprised if the Citizens do not win the Premier League title this season.

However, City fans should remain optimistic about a successful season, especially if Guardiola is able to sign the players that he wants to and key figures such as Sergio Aguero remain fit throughout the campaign.
