Pre-season preparation has been hampered by international competition.
Tottenham's Vincent Janssen in action with Atletico Madrid's Filipe Luis
Summer signings Vincent Janssen and Victor Wanyama trained with Tottenham’s senior players for the first-time today at Hotspur Way.
The bulk of Spurs’ first-team were given extra time off after their international exertions over the summer and didn’t make the pre-season trip to Australia.
They have instead been gaining fitness back at their London training base and were joined today by Mauricio Pochettino and the rest of the returning squad.

Spurs fell short in both Melbourne fixtures – losing 2-1 to Juventus and 1-0 to Atletico Madrid – but there were promising signs from the new arrivals and youth players in particular.
Today marked Harry Kane’s first chance to assess his striking rival up close and personal and Janssen will now have a better idea of who he is up against for a starting berth this season.

Fans will get to see the heavy-hitters in action on Friday as Spurs travel to Oslo for a friendly with Italian giants Inter.
Friday’s encounter will be the only pre-season friendly much of Tottenham’s first-team will have experienced before their Premier League opener with Everton on August 13th, and Pochettino will be working overtime in the next two weeks to get his squad ready for another title tilt.
