Celtic fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to recent comments made by David Moyes.

Moyes, who was recently appointed the Sunderland manager, has suggested that he spoke to Celtic before taking the job at the Stadium of Light.

The Bhoys were looking for a manager following the departure of Ronny Deila at the end of last season.

The Scottish Premiership giants eventually settled on former Liverpool and Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers.

Former Everton and Manchester United manager Moyes has revealed that he held talks with Glasgow giants Celtic regarding the possibility of succeeding Deila at Celtic Park.

“I met Celtic and I know the people very well,” the Scotsman told The Scottish Sun. “They spoke to me several times before but I had other clubs this summer who met me at the same time.

“I’ve had opportunities to go abroad but I wanted to come back to the Premier League. The league has an exciting group of managers and I wanted to compete against them. But it is the potential of Sunderland that, to my mind, hasn’t reached the heights.”

Moyes is a very good manager, as he demonstrated during his time at Premier League outfit Everton.

Things did not go according to plan for Moyes at United and Real Sociedad, but Sunderland fans should be optimistic under the former Preston North End boss.

Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to comments from Moyes suggesting that he snubbed the chance to take charge of the Hoops.
