A report on Tuesday claimed that the Eagles are looking to sell their former captain, and Villa fans have been quick on the uptake.
Jedinak has fallen out of favour at Selhurst Park under Alan Pardew, playing greatly reduced roles in the last two years as the Eagles look to kick on and add more quality to their starting XI.
The 31-year-old Australia captain has made 177 appearances in all competitions for the London club since his arrival from Turkey five years ago, but now appears to be surplus to requirements.
The Daily Mail reports that with just a single year left on his Palace contract, the club are looking to cash in and recoup a fee for the defensive midfielder this summer rather than keeping him on the books and losing him for free next summer.
Centre-back Scott Dann this week replaced Jedinak as Pardew's captain, and his departure from the club seems only a matter of time if a buyer can be found.
Within hours of the Mail's report being published, Villa fans on Twitter had taken up the cry for their club to make a move to bring the experienced, combative star to Villa Park to reinforce their midfield.
Jedinak would appear to be just the type of player Villa need in the middle of the pitch, particular given Idrissa Gana Gueye's move to Everton on Tuesday.
There are also concerns that Villa could lose midfield enforcer Carlos Sanchez, with Fiorentina credited this week as holding a solid interest in the Colombian.
Reacting to the news regarding Jedinak, Villa supporters pleaded with their club on Twitter to bring in the 31-year-old to further strengthen their spine over the next few weeks.
Jedinak would be an amazing signing for Villa. Exactly what we need and what we have lacked for years in the middle. Here's hoping! #AVFC— The Jess™ (@jhavfc) August 2, 2016
@Dr_TonyXia Big Tone, sign Mile Jedinak from Palace. Don't even ask Roberto - just do it. Please. Thanks x— Cian Carroll (@CianByName) August 2, 2016

Mile Jedinak from palace would be a class signing too if that ever happened— Will Lydon AVFC (@WilliamLydon1) August 2, 2016
Elphick & Jedinak through the middle would be ideal. Something we have lacked for years is leaders on the pitch #avfc— Rich (@ForeverVilla1) August 2, 2016
Elphick, Jedinak and McCormack would be one hell of a spine. @AVFCOfficial please make it happen— Dan (@gandriff) August 2, 2016
Jedinak would be a brilliant signing if we were thinking of snapping him up. The midfielder we've lacked since Milner left. #avfc— Pick Aston Villa (@pickAstonVilla) August 2, 2016
I’ve long thought Mile Jedinak would be a fantastic signing for #AVFC. Even with relative depth in midfield, I’d like to see us pursue him.— Alex Carson (@crashcarson15) August 2, 2016
I'd make Jedinak a priority right now. Exactly what we need in midfield. Made available by Palace too. #avfc— TB (C) (@tom9022) August 2, 2016
Jedinak is seemingly surplus to requirements at Crystal Palace. Would love to see him in a Villa shirt. #avfc— Matt Lynch (@mattlyynch) August 2, 2016
