Leeds United have reportedly made an enquiry about Nottingham Forest's Jack Hobbs.

Leeds United have made an enquiry as to the availability of Nottingham Forest defender Jack Hobbs, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Yorkshire outfit's interest in Hobbs was reported right here on HITC Sport last summer, but that interest failed to materialise into anything more concrete.

Garry Monk has made his intentions to strengthen his squad in all departments clear this summer, and the 27-year-old centre-back would certainly fill a void in the Leeds defence.

Hobbs has spent two-and-a-half years at the City Ground, but a succession of injuries has limited him to just 44 appearances for the Reds.

Standing at 6 ft 3 in, the former Hull City and Leicester centre-back is fantastic in the air, and excels in a league where long-ball football is commonplace.

Hobbs has two-years remaining on his current deal with Forest, so a substantial fee would still be required to bring him to Elland Road.

With just three recognised central defenders at the club, and Liam Cooper currently out injured, their need for reinforcements is an urgent one.

Leeds kick off their Championship campaign away to Queens Park Rangers on Sunday, so Monk will surely want any kind of deal completed by then.
