The 23-year-old is said to be the defender Arsene Wenger wants to sign to ease the burden on his squad after Per Mertesacker's long term injury, but if Mustafi is hoping for a switch he certainly showed no signs of it as his club posted pictures of the player smiling happy as he returns to club football.
Mustafi himself also tweeted a picture, with a message suggesting he has looked forward to meeting up with his Valencia teammates.
The Germany international played two games at the European Championships this summer, starting the World Cup winners' first match of the tournament and scoring his first goal for his country in the process, as part of a 2-0 win over Ukraine. He also came on in the semi-final defeat against France.

With Valencia training in England ahead of their friendly matches, Wenger may be eager to get a deal done over the next few days if he is serious about a move.
