Tottenham Hotspur are considering a £20 million move for Leicester City hero Danny Drinkwater, report The Sun.

Drinkwater was part of Leicester's title winning side from last season, but the Foxes have been unable to yet tie him to an extended contract.

The Sun report Spurs have been alerted to the slow negotiations and are keen to see whether the 26-year-old would be willing to join.

Drinkwater's form saw him called into England's squad last season, although he just missed out on the Euro 2016 selection.

The former Manchester United youngster has lost midfield partner Ngolo Kante, who has signed for Chelsea, and Leicester will surely be keen to stop him joining Spurs.

Another unnamed Premier League club are claimed to be interested along with Spurs, who themselves are not short on midfielders.

Tottenham are looking to move Nabil Bentaleb on, while Ryan Mason and Tom Carroll would find their places in the squad under threat should Drinkwater be signed.

Yet a first team place would not be assured, with Mousa Dembele, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, and new boy Victor Wanyama competing for positions.
