Liverpool's Emre Can celebrates after the game
Can joined up with the Reds six days ago, despite spending the summer with Germany at Euro 2016.
He has been with them during their pre-season tour of the USA as Jurgen Klopp’s side continue their preparations for the upcoming campaign.
Before he joined up with the squad he enjoyed a three-week break following what has been a busy year for him.
During his holidays he took the chance to meet up with former captain Steven Gerrard and says it was great to see him.
“I met him in LA and we went for lunch. It’s always great to see Stevie,” he told the club’s official website.
“It’s an honour to know him and it was an honour to have lunch with him. You can always speak with him about football and life. He’s a very good guy.”

Liverpool fans will now be hoping that Can has taken some pointers from Gerrard to improve his game moving forward.
He was impressive last season, showing significant improvement under Jurgen Klopp’s guidance, playing a key role as they made it to both the Capital One and Europa League finals.
At 22-years-old he has plenty of developing left to do, and perhaps a few pointers from Gerrard will help the Germany international to fulfil his potential.
