The striker is expected to leave Anfield in this transfer window after Jurgen Klopp told the Italian to find himself a new club.
Finding a potential buyer has been hard though, with clubs currently struggling to match the Reds asking price and his lofty wages.

One of the clubs that had been linked with a potential move were Besiktas, with chairman Fikret Orman hinting that a move could be on the cards.
However, it appears that is not the case if the latest comments from Gunes are to believed.
"There were also rumours about (Manchester City defender) Aleksandar Kolarov but he wasn't in my plans," the Mirror reports him saying.
"Balotelli isn't in my plans either. I don't have a favourable view of Mario Balotelli. I have never expressed a positive insight on him."
Liverpool's Mario Balotelli looks dejected
It remains to be seen if Balotelli will secure a move away from Liverpool this summer.
They appear to be keen to move him on after a disastrous two years with the club, but finding a suitor is not proving an easy task for either Balotelli or the Reds.
Now that a move to Turkey seems to be off the table, it will be interesting to see if any other clubs make a move for him late on in the window as a last resort, as Liverpool did when they signed him.
