England's Jack Wilshere during training
The season has not even begun and Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has picked up an injury.
The Sun report Wilshere has injured his patella knee tendon, and while he could make a return to action within a week, fans are right to be concerned.

Wilshere barely played at all last season due to an ankle injury, and in the past his lengthier injuries have started off as 'minor setbacks' before developing into more serious issues.
The midfielder featured briefly for England at Euro 2016, and was hoping to have a big pre-season ahead of staking a claim for a regular starting spot in a competitive Gunners midfield.
Arsenal's Jack Wilshere with manager Arsene Wenger as he is substituted
Wilshere must battle against Mohamed Elneny, Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla for a central midfield spot, and cannot afford to miss much more time.
He is player highly regarded by Arsene Wenger, so he will get his chances if he is fit, but if this continues to be a rarity then it is harder for the Frenchman to justify picking him.
Here is a look a how Arsenal fans reacted to his latest blow...

Wilshere injured yet again. Can this guy catch a break? Beginning to feel he'll never reach his potential, constant injuries ruining him— M (@logicmarco) August 1, 2016
Wilshere is just not someone who can be counted on, for as long as he's here...it sucks but that's how he should be treated— Zim (@RegistaQB) August 1, 2016

Wilshere is always injured, it never gonna come his real "moment". Please stop saying he is the heart of Arsenal. We need a 40 games player.— Paulo Osorio (@Natogooner) August 1, 2016
