Tottenham's Vincent Janssen in action with Atletico Madrid's Filipe Luis
Tottenham Hotspur star Vincent Janssen has told The Mirror that he spoke to Ruud van Nistelrooy before making his move to White Hart Lane.
Janssen, 22, smashed 27 league goals for AZ Alkmaar last season having joined from Almere City last summer, and his exploits in the Eredivisie saw him earn a big move to Tottenham.

Janssen, who featured against Juventus and Atletico Madrid last week, is now competing with Tottenham's golden boy Harry Kane for a spot in Mauricio Pochettino's attack, giving Spurs another goal threat and the cover for Kane that they lacked last season.
Now, with less than two weeks to go until Janssen makes his Premier League bow, the striker has opened up on his move to White Hart Lane - and revealed a conversation with a former Premier League goal machine.
Former Manchester United star Ruud van Nistelrooy
Ruud van Nistelrooy left PSV Eindhoven to join Manchester United back in 2001, and smashed 150 goals in 219 games for the Red Devils to become a Premier League hero.
A Dutch legend too, Van Nistelrooy - who was Eredivisie top goalscorer twice - appears to have had some words of advice for Janssen, who won the Eredivisie Golden Boot last season.

Janssen admitted to The Mirror that he talked to Van Nistelrooy, and whilst he didn't want to share the whole conversation, he did admit that the former Manchester United star thinks Spurs are 'a fantastic club', and ultimately the right move for Janssen at this stage in his career.
"I talked to Ruud," said Janssen. "I want to keep everything he said between him and me because it was a big private talk. I tell you one thing: he thinks Spurs are a fantastic club and just right for me," he added.
Do you think Janssen will be a success at Tottenham?
