Croatia's Domagoj Vida during a news conference
According to The Mirror, David Moyes has eyed up Dynamo Kiev defender Domagoj Vida as his first Sunderland signing in a potential £5m deal.
Moyes was appointed as the new Black Cats boss just over a week ago following Sam Allardyce's departure to take the England job, and he arrives with the club being frustrated in the transfer market.

With no summer signings so far, Sunderland are being left behind by their Premier League rivals in the transfer market - and Moyes has just two weeks to get some new signings in before Sunderland kick off their Premier League campaign against Manchester City.
Defence is a particular area of concern, and The Mirror now report that Moyes wants Domagoj Vida to become his first Sunderland signing.

Vida, 27, had a spell with Bayer Leverkusen before heading back to his native Croatia with Dinamo Zagreb in the summer 2011, and his impressive displays earned him a move to Dynamo Kiev just 18 months later.
The centre back, who can also play at right back, has now made over 100 appearances for the Ukrainian side, whilst he also impressed for Croatia at this summer's European Championships.

Rock solid alongside Vedran Corluka in the heart of the Croatian defence, Vida impressed on the international stage - and Moyes now appears to want him at the Stadium of Light.
It's claimed that Moyes wants the uncompromising Vida as his first Sunderland signing, and a deal of £5m is being targeted by the Black Cats as they look to end their signing drought.
