Nottingham Forest ended their pre-season preparations with a 2-1 defeat to newly-promoted Premier League side Hull City at the City Ground.
Philippe Montanier’s side endured a miserable start against Hull, as Adama Diomande put the Tigers in front after just six minutes, and the Norwegian striker made it 2-0 before the 20 minute mark.

Forest did pull a goal back in the dying embers of the game as Oliver Burke struck a consolation, as Montanier’s men couldn’t salvage a draw from the game.
Now, it’s on to Championship action for Forest, as they take on newly-promoted Burton Albion at the City Ground next weekend – and fans have been commenting on two of the club’s new signings.
Nottingham Forest manager Philippe Montanier watches on against Hull
Portuguese starlet Hildeberto Pereira has arrived on a season-long loan deal from Benfica, and started at right back against Hull, clearly impressing fans in the process.
Forest supporters took to Twitter to claim that the 20-year-old could be one of their best signings in recent years based on his performance against Hull, with the youngster’s pace impressing fans.

However, striker Apostolos Vellios didn’t impress quite so much. The Greek striker – formerly of Everton – has joined Forest from Iraklis this summer, but fans seemingly aren’t sure about the 6ft 3in striker just yet.
Fans think Vellios will struggle this season having failed to make an impact against Hull, and urged manager Montanier to start Britt Assombalonga up front instead of Vellios against Burton…
